Bible Journals provides the tools for faith seekers and scholars around the world to share fellowship and knowledge of God through their own readings and writings. Bible Journals.com allows Bible enthusiasts of all types to enjoy the Bible while maintaining a Journal of personal thoughts. Members of this free online resource receive a web-based desktop where they can manage Journals and other web-based tools.
Bible Journals has upgraded its technology to provide visitors and subscribers an even richer experience. This cutting-edge technology, known as AJAX improves site response time, performance and allows the users to further personalize their experience. These improvements include:
Topical Bible outlines which cover various subjects including … Parables of Jesus, Miracles of the Bible and Prayers in the Bible. The “Verse of the Day” on the site’s home page is updated every 12 hours. “The site features more than 17 versions of the Bible, with more scheduled to be added in 2007”, said Bible Journals Founder and President, Johnny Washington.
The Bible Search allows users to apply full text search features to the Bible. Bible search results are clearly displayed in a tree view, grouped by book to enable fast retrieval of the scriptures.
The Bible Browser feature is designed for novice Bible readers who want to deepen their knowledge of the Bible. Readers can select a book, chapter and verse(s) for reading. For the seasoned Bible reader who has in-depth knowledge of the Bible, the site features an advanced “Bible Reader” tool. It allows users to input scriptures and go directly to the scripture text.
Bible Dictionaries are available as well, including: Eastons, Naves Topical Outline, Amtract, Smith and Torrey. Users can also search or browse “Names in the Bible”, including complete definition and all scripture references.
The site also provides all scriptures in a “multi-translation” view, which is a tabbed display of each Bible Translation in use. Each tab displays the requested scriptures for its translation. Registered users may select customize the translations by selecting up to 5 translations of the Bible for reading and comparisons.
“For developers, the Bible database will be available via a web service interface for use on other sites early February”, said Washington, who developed the technology that powers the Bible Journals website. “Faith is timeless, but keeping Bible study and journaling features current is a high priority for us. We hope that individuals, churches and other organizations will take advantage of our new features to deepen their understanding and faith.”
